- The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Audio Visual and Data Network Installation Engineer to work for a busy company based in Surrey. You will receive excellent on the job training as well as training by vendors and distributors on their products.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Once trained:
Networking:
▪You will successfully install and terminate CAT5, CAT5e and CAT6 Cabling; patch cabinets, install Network switches and make active connections.
▪Install associated containment; install wireless systems.
▪Establish networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation; defining documenting and enforcing system standards.
▪Troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
AV
▪Successfully install, maintain and troubleshoot Interactive Teaching tools (Interactive Whiteboards); Projectors and other AV items such as Audio Systems, PAs, etc.
Basic salary of £13K to £18k per annum, negotiable, dependant on experience.
Your key skills and experience
The ideal candidate will be keen to learn and make this his/her career. You will have good computer experience ideally with some networking or engineering experience. Once trained you will be proficient in cable terminating and soldering, wall and ceiling mounted displays, projectors and projector screens.
The company's installers are multi skilled to a high standard with regards to rack installation and management so you will be joining a strong and experienced team who will help to train you.
You must be able to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines with perhaps some knowledge of Health and Safety rules. A full valid driving licence would be useful with use of a personal vehicle required at times (mileage paid) as some travel is required in this role.
