- The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Audio Visual specialist - The Products Applications Engineer (PAE) is a multi-faceted, commercial-meets-technical role, critical to the continuous growth of EMEA Sales.
The primary function of the role is to provide timely and effective responses to the sales team and partners, proposing technical solutions with the overall goal of winning business.
Another critical responsibility is the progression of new products and/or product improvements through the product development cycle. Your pro-active involvement will be required at each phase, from start to finish.
By incorporating experience-based customer requirements within the product development cycle, you will ensure that our client's product offerings will facilitate sustained growth of the brand, revenues and profits.
Fundamentally, the role can be broken down into two distinct areas of focus:
▪Provision of Pre-Sales Support services to the Regional Sales team and Partner Network within the EMEA territory.
▪Pro-active Product Management through involvement with Sales and Development functions; both within the company and towards Other Equipment Manufacturers and suppliers.

The ability to create and nurture excellent professional relationships, both internally and with our network of partners, will be essential and self discipline will be required in order to prioritise your workload efficiently:
Pre-Sales Support:
Working in conjunction with Sales and Service, you will be responsible for increasing our client's chances of winning all sales opportunities.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
▪Maximising conversion of sales enquiries to orders, through enhancements to the companys pre-sales technical abilities.
▪Establishment of sales tools, such as a calculators and step-by-step guides to facilitate greater knowledge within the sales team and partners, thus reducing dependency on resources from HQ.
▪Overseeing the development of an effective software tool and system to define LED Wall solutions, comprising of relevant components and environmental needs.
▪Assisting in the creation of a ‘concierge service to our client's partners for the LED family of products to ensure successful installations and happy customers.
▪Establishment of, structures and maintaining an intuitive technical knowledge base, covering in-depth product information for our internal technical and sales teams.
▪Establishing and maintaining a technical knowledge base to be available to our partners. This should cover not only extended product information, but also associated third-party products.
▪Providing technical, and user features and benefits content, for a Partner Portal on our website.
▪Assisting Marketing in the preparation of events, such as trade shows.
▪Proposing innovative ideas to continuously improve our ability to provide first-class technical sales services.
Product Management:
Your involvement will initially focus on the market delivery stage of the product management cycle.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Prepare text (copy) and illustrations, in liaison with marketing, to enable the timely creation of brochures and collateral as well as producing website content explaining features, USPs and benefits of our products.
Contribute creatively to the successful introduction of the LED Wall family of products.
Establish and maintain a database, initially for internal use, of third party products and suppliers that may be used in conjunction with our products such as specialist lenses, 3D glasses, high performance video cables etc.
Involvement in the life cycle of each product will cease at the point of end of life (EOL) and you will work with Sales Marketing to ensure this is communicated in a professional and timely manner.
It is expected that customer feedback, requests and challenges will be continuously reported back to product development in a concise and timely manner.
Over time, the Product Management aspects of the role are expected to develop.
Based in Manchester salary will be negotiable dependent upon experience plus benefits
Your skills and experience
The Products and Applications Engineer will report directly to the Products and Applications Manager. Fluent communication skills in English (both written and oral) are pre-requisites. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills to facilitate strong working relationships with key stakeholders, both within and outside of the company.
You must have a good basic level of education including Maths and English.
It is likely that you will possess an engineering degree, however we are open to applicants who can demonstrate equivalent experience, relevant skills or qualifications.
You will have good good skills in the following:
▪Organisation of tasks.
▪Handling several different priorities at the same time.
▪Creation of databases and associated search functions.
▪Research and summarising of information.
▪Preferably technical experience of working in the audio and video or media industry
▪Skills and Abilities
▪Fluent in written and spoken English.
▪Mathematical ability to create customer friendly tools.
▪Ability to put forward ideas for innovation in defining new products and how to present them together with an eye for detail.
▪Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate technical information about our products.
▪Ability to use computer graphics tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator is preferable.
▪Ability to develop trust with internal and external customers.
▪Excellent time management skills.

▪Ability to organise and participate in International trade shows.
