- The Opportunity
As an AV CAD Draughtsman, you will utilise AutoCAD to produce 2D and 3D engineering drawings for integrated Audio Visual systems in commercial and public sector settings.
These AV systems comprise a range of technologies, including control systems (such as AMX and Crestron), LCD displays, touchscreens, projectors, audio systems and video conferencing systems, as well as associated cabling, switching infrastructure and racks.
Working with the in-house AV Engineering team, you will produce 2D and 3D room layouts, rack layouts and system schematics. You will also produce concept drawings and layouts for tender purposes, as well as “as built” drawings.
You will have input into system design, with occasional site visits for surveying and project management purposes. You will also produce system specifications and kit lists in conjunction with design engineers, reporting to the design manager.
This is a fast paced technical role requiring you to work on several projects simultaneously, prioritising your time as required. You will work with technical and non-technical colleagues, as well as liaising with external partners and customers.
The primary function of the role is the fast and accurate production of high quality technical drawings.
Salary: £30k-£32k doe plus benefits - you can be based in the North West, West Midlands or Berkshire.
Your Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have excellent 2D and 3D AutoCAD skills.. You will need to have strong communication skills and be able to quickly understand a client brief, clarifying any uncertain points by liaising effectively and professionally with colleagues and customers.
You must have a proven track record of producing all relevant drawings (tender through to schematics) for integrated Audio Visual systems for corporate/Pro AV solutions. You will be able to quickly and accurately produce 2D and 3D drawings of room layouts and rack layouts.
