- The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Audio Visual Service Engineer to work at the top end of residential AV installations.
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced residential AV Service engineer to maintain their portfolio of clients' properties in and around London.
This role will essentially be field based and client facing, as such the you will need to be presentable at all times and be used to dealing with VIP clients. You have the ability to articulate your knowledge of the system to the client and should be able to adapt rapidly to the knowledge base of the client.
You must have a strong ability for problem solving and the ability to develop a logical understanding of how systems are integrated both in hardware and software aspects.
A good understanding of Audio Visual technology is essential to the development of this role, as is a good understanding of network technologies, audio engineering experience and hands on installation / construction experience would also be advantageous.
You will need to approach tasks methodically and would need to learn the design of our client's systems and connectivity requirement. It is expected that these skills will be used both on construction sites and in domestic environments giving hands on experience within the various environments the company operates.
Reporting to the Service Manager for onsite progress/problems raised
Ability to identify chain of events to isolate fault scenarios, giving detailed information for escalation where required.
Liaising with clients and their representatives to ensure the smooth resolution of reported issues
To maintain a clean, safe and friendly service on site and in the office at all times
You would be required to take part in the on-call rota providing remote and on-site support both in the evenings and weekends as well as during holiday periods for which additional remuneration is available.
You must be professional, career minded, have a full driver's licence and a current passport.
Based in London, salary is circa £30k-£35k p.a. doe plus company van, overtime, pension and benefits.
Your skills and experience
Ideally you will have:
▪Good knowledge of Crestron Systems Installation and troubleshooting
▪Lutron / iLight programming
▪Data networking wiring and troubleshooting
▪Security, CCTV, Access control administration and fault finding
▪Second fix wiring terminations, patch panel terminations, RJ45, Soldering and fibre connector assemblies
▪Understanding schematics, general arrangements and architectural drawings
▪Meticulous record keeping, note taking, emails and report generating
▪Experience in Audio Visual Systems, Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering
▪Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise work and deliver solutions to clients;
▪A can-do attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done right;
▪Ability to work on own initiative.
▪Well presented.
▪Good time keeping skills.
▪Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities;

Lutron (Home Works Illumination, QS)
Relevant Industry (CEDIA, AVIXA)
Health Safety (PASMA, CSCS, ECS, working at heights, first aid)
