- The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to work for a global brand, The Application Engineer AV Network is a technical position within our client's Sales Department.
The position is based at their Heathrow offices and requires regular travel to customer sites for commissioning and troubleshooting.
The Application Engineer AV Network works closely with the Streaming Support Manager and the Technical Services Director to assure a high level of service, support and solutions of the AV Network product line.
The Application Engineer AV Network will support customers on design requests, commissioning and troubleshooting technical issues. The Application Engineer AV Network is also involved as a trainer during internal trainings and customer support.
In pursuit of that, you would have the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
The focus of the Application Engineer AV Network is on the support of AV Network products but does not exclude other product ranges if required.
Pre-sales
Provide general information on AV Network products and other client products.
Design dedicated AV networks (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS,)
Provide project and design assistance for corporate network design where AV Networks need to be integrated.
Perform in-house testing of technical inquiries from resellers/ end-users
After-sales
Provide on-site commissioning service including the documentation required
Provide troubleshooting in case of technical problems over the phone/ by mail and log these in the appropriate applications.
Perform in-house testing of technical issues experienced by resellers/ end-users
Report technical issues to the RD department via the appropriate applications
Liaise with the other team member(s) and upper management to advise of issues reported by customers
Troubleshoot on-site at the request of the Streaming support manager or the Technical Services Director
Marketing
Provide new product ideas and changes to future products
Develop product loyalty among the resellers and end-users

Your skills and Experience
Strong personal contact handling skills and active listening
Proven hands-on network engineering experience
Current CCNA or comparable certification (If expired no longer than 2 years)
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., Multicast, IGMP, 802.X, QoS)
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
University or University of Applied Sciences (under graduate) degree in Computer Science or a related subject
Proficient language skills in English (German language would be useful too)
