- The Opportunity
As an Audio Visual Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on varied and challenging audio visual and video conferencing systems integration projects, from client brief stage and pre-sales through to design, design development, installation, commissioning and on-going maintenance and support. Typical clients are universities, colleges, government organisations, large businesses and charities; typical projects include board room solutions (presentations systems, conferencing), auditoria, digital signage solutions and medical training facilities.
You will have responsibility for full AV system design, proof of concept, on-site configuration, commissioning and client training and support. This will require liaison with clients at senior level and liaison with other professionals working on the project, including the Project Manager (with main contractor, consultant or client), technology manufacturers and suppliers, technical sales, engineers, installers and programmers. Your solutions will form the technical backbone of these systems. You will have major input into the direction and success of projects, working in a consultative way to achieve the client objectives within budget and on time.

Your Skills and Experience
You must be a proven Audio Visual Engineer with strong hands-on experience of a wide variety of high-end AV solution installation projects. You must have worked with corporate and/or government clients and in multi-discipline project teams, with the ability to work with a variety of professionals. Candidates must have an excellent technical understanding of AV solutions, including lighting systems, audio systems and video systems, touch-screen technology, digital signage and complete boardroom solutions.
You should also have an excellent understanding of AV systems integration with IP networks and existing IT systems. A strong understanding of control systems is essential (such as Crestron, AMX, and Extron). Along with an excellent telephone manner and good written communication skills, with excellent client management skills, you must be able to manage your own time and workload.
Our client is looking for team players who have a proven track record in this industry and who want to be involved in a fast growing dynamic company.
You will ideally have a qualification in AV or electronic installation or design (such as AVIXA CTS); you will also need to be CRB checked to work on sensitive client sites. A full driving licence is essential. You will be required to cover sites across Scotland, primarily in Central Scotland, but need to be flexible on travel and working hours when required.
