- The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager to organise the safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of warehoused goods for this global Audio Visual company.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of equipment from warehousing facilities
Managing quality control of goods inwards and liaising with suppliers and procurement in relation to damaged deliveries
Ensuring goods are dispatched on time to meet project deadlines
Conducting daily component and metalwork checks, creating reports for reordering consumables stock where required
Planning future capacity requirements and identifying and managing offsite storage facilities should the need arise
Liaising with transport companies
Daily update of Microsoft Dynamics AX accounting system for receipts and dispatches ensuring accurate inventories
Ensuring records of “available stock” are maintained and circulated to relevant staff regularly
Maintaining records of loan equipment
Ensuring returns/RMAs are dealt with efficiently
Overseeing monthly and year-end stock counts
Organise the recruitment and training of staff. Complete appraisals and monitor performance
Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork to ensure productivity targets are met
Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as required
Ensuring that equipment is stored securely at all times
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality and environmental objectives are met
Overseeing a daily check is carried out on the forklift, completing check list (daily quarterly)
Oversee the planned maintenance of warehouse vehicles, machinery and equipment
Oversee the office's fleet, including arranging valet, servicing and fuel cards
Management of warehouse space for client witness testing
Preparing annual budgets and working within these
Reviewing, recommending, documenting and implementing processes to ensure efficient warehouse operation
Liaising with other departmental managers to ensure smooth workflow
Attending weekly managers meetings
Overseeing timely processing of Box Sales and RMAs
Overseeing the picking of items for the rack fabrication function, liaising with Site Managers
Based in Hampshire salary will be circa £45k doe plus benefits.
There is also an opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant £30k p.a. plus benefits. Please state which role you are applying for.
Your skills and experience
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' warehouse management experience and
Experience of overseas shipping/logistics/distribution and the related documentation required
Forklift licensed and experience of maintenance of standard warehouse equipment
Quality control focus and ability to continually improve process and procedures
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal colleagues
Health and Safety qualified. Forklift licensed and qualified. Advanced driving certification.
Numeracy and a commercial understanding of finance for stock management
People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas. Team-working skills
Planning and organising skills to effectively manage the flow of stock
Analytical ability. Experience of Microsoft Dynamics AX as well as Excel, Word, Outlook and ideally Microsoft Project.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to use initiative to achieve decisiveness and a solution based outcome focus.
Technical IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Flexible approach to work and working hours
Strong knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse
Ability to prioritise and organise to stay calm under pressure
Ability to think and work independently to meet necessary deadlines
Ability to multitask with good oral and written communication skills
Awareness of audio-visual equipment would be useful but is not essential.
