- The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client's team as Audio Visual Technical Design Manager to enhance their Engineering team. The company are embarking on the next stage of their growth plans having successfully weathered the challenges of the Covid pandemic.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Development and design of all systems and solutions to customer requirements
Provision of support and advice to the Engineering team on products and technology
Consultancy support for customers
Monitoring product portfolio to ensure that the company supplies the best, most appropriate kit to customers
Building organisational knowledge of availability, functionality, and application of audio-visual equipment
Technical input to tender documentation, customer proposals and company marketing
Commission AV systems where required (desirable not essential)
Programme AV Control Systems including Extron and AMX (Creston desirable but not essential) where required
Maintain knowledge of new developments and innovations in audio-visual field
Develop effective and accessible database of current and future products and solutions
Monitor, assess and manage design capacity, making business case for additional resource as required
Contributing to management team discussions and to executive policy and strategy
Taking an active interest in self-development, seeking opportunities to enhance skills and experience to optimise performance
Any other duties and responsibilities as deemed required by line management
Based in Glasgow, salary is £34k-£45k doe plus benefits
Your skills and Experience
Excellent technical knowledge of AV VC equipment
Must be able to produce AV designs including schematics for video, audio, control, and network
Must be able to produce cable schedules
Must be able to produce and mark up DWG level room drawings. Knowledge of relevant drawings systems including CAD, Visio etc
Ability to design innovate, financially viable and reliable systems that meet our clients requirements while remaining competitive in the market
Knowledge of the latest AV products including but not limited to Extron, AMX, Crestron, Samsung, NEC, Polycom and Kramer
Ability to commission full AV systems including but not limited to VC systems, Digital Sound Processors, Video and Audio distribution systems
Extron and AMX Control System programming experience (Crestron desirable)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
Ability to understand project schedule, plans and labour requirements. Prince 2 practitioner an advantage
Ability to prioritise and work under pressure is essential to meet necessary deadlines
Good understanding of IT and networks
