With the app usable on any mobile, tablet or computer, 37 children called in at the press of a button from South Africa, Brazil, London and even the Saracens Championships rugby final in Clermont, France.

Children were lit up with joy as they spoke to Father Christmas about his elves, reindeers and whether they had been naughty or nice.

Having prepared beforehand, Santa knew the children’s names, exactly what they wanted and any messages parents wanted him to say in order to give a truly personal touch.

Lesley Carter, from change management company Curium Solutions, who witnessed the experience, said: “Santa was brilliant. Thank you so much. The boys were quite stuck for words at the time. This opportunity to chat to Santa was very much appreciated and a lovely thing to do.”

Ashleigh Auld of Starleaf said: “It was a truly magical experience and we can’t wait to see him back next year.”
