Glasgow Transport Museum’s £35 million refurbishment

What was formerly the Glasgow Transport Museum, the multifunctional building not only boasts state-of-the-art fitness facilities and over 1.5million pieces from Glasgow’s civic collection, the National Library of Scotland’s Moving Image

Archive; but also a cutting-edge AV system throughout.

Integrator SSUK was enlisted to design the system, supplying and installing a range of AV equipment including LG commercial displays and videowalls throughout the building and in its world-class sports facility.

SSUK installed a Onelan digital signage solution throughout the building which allows Glasgow Life and its partners to display informative content to visitors on SM5KB LG displays ranging from 32in to 55in. The team also produced custom-built interactive and non-interactive content to further enhance user interaction within the building.

In the spin studio, a 4×2 55in LV35A LG videowall with minimal bezels is connected to a Virtual Fit Box for Les Mills virtual spin classes. The videowall is complemented by Tannoy loudspeakers and subwoofers for industry leading audio clarity, all controlled by an AMX touch screen utilising a custom designed interface and audio signals processed by Symetrix Digital Signal Processors. Outside each fitness suite, a 32in SM5KB LG display, presents timetabling information and promotional content to members.
