of scenarios, providing information, showing video or moving patterns, and even projection map imagery on to small objects.
Essentially, it turns any surface into a touch screen, creating an environment in which you can project layers of information. Having such a small projector which looks a bit like a track light will fit nicely with the other things being integrated into the ceiling, say. People visualising a wall won’t realise it’s actually being projected.
The 2,000-lumen WXGA EV-100 can therefore work as either a projector or a spotlight without distracting viewers from the subject. Says Leon Mclean, product manager, Epson Europe: “The LightScene EV-100 is a first move into a completely new type of projector for Epson, and a great addition to our range of laser signage solutions. I’m very pleased with a design that manages to be stylish and visually unobtrusive, without compromising performance, versatility or reliability.”
The EV-100 can project from any angle, be it ceiling-mounted, floor-standing or attached to a lighting track, all without requiring specialist installation or set-up. It’s also capable of projecting in portrait, and multiple units are capable of edge blending for larger displays.
The projector is supplied with Epson Projector Content Manager Software so single or multiple playlists can be loaded via SD Card and changed using remote control with no need for a computer. The software also lets you add overlay effects including colour and shape filters for tinted and irregularly-shaped images, as well as creating and editing playlists, timetables and custom filters.
As with all Epson laser projectors, the EV-100 has a sealed filterless structure to boost dust resistance, and a 20,000-hour, five-year warranty. This extremely innovative projector is available from June 2018.
