Hitachi adds three models to Collegiate Series of projectors

Hitachi America has expanded its Collegiate Series of projectors with the addition of three new high-brightness, low-maintenance projectors. With these additions, the Collegiate Series now offers twelve different projector models ranging from

3,500 to 5,800 lumens, all complete with a three-year limited warranty on parts and labour.

The Hitachi Collegiate Series includes Accentualizer and HDCR High Dynamic Contrast Range technologies that sharpen and improve images and visibility in bright rooms. Designed with long lasting visibility and brightness in mind, the entire Collegiate Series of projectors is aimed at any collegiate classroom or conference room setting.

“Hitachi has had great success with the Collegiate Series since its launch in 2013,” said Mike Morin, strategic sales development manager at Hitachi America. “Now, we’ve taken the feedback from our customers and have developed three new projectors to augment the line. Our goal is to always provide our customers with the right projector for every type of installation. With the long hours, and continuous use that projectors in collegiate facilities experience, the three newest members of the Collegiate Series are equipped with everything from high-contrast ratio to low total cost of ownership and our three-year limited warranty to ensure they fit right into any higher-education facility.”

All three of the newest models in the series have two digital inputs (HDMI and one HDMI/MHL), 3LCD projection technology and a contrast ratio of 16.000:1 while maintaining different lumen levels, ranging from 4,500 to 5,200 and resolutions ranging from XGA 1024×768 to WUXGA 1920×1200. The expanded Collegiate Series comes with a flexible 1.6x zoom lens, moderator control mode, multi-projector capability, and projector monitoring from a remote location.

All Collegiate Series projectors are eligible for Hitachi America Ltd.’s OneVision Program for higher education facilities, providing colleges and universities with specialised pricing, enhanced service, direct access to Hitachi experts and programme rewards. The buying rewards of the programme include the option of buying 10 projectors and receiving a free projector, or buying three projectors and receiving one lamp free.

Ultra Short Throw 3LCD Projectors

Meanwhile, Hitachi showcased one of its four new 3LCD Ultra Short Throw Projectors, which begin shipping in July, at InfoComm. The LP-AW4001, LP-AW3001 and interactive LP-TW4001 and LP-TW3001 models expand Hitachi’s growing line of solid state light source projectors. The LP-AW4001 was on display in Las Vegas.

The new 3LCD laser projectors feature WXGA 1280×800 resolution, 500,000 : 1 contrast ratio and are equipped with Long Life 2 Mode that allows for up to 50,000 hours of virtually maintenance-free operation. With one HDMI and one HDMI/MHL digital inputs, the four new models offer a larger, more flexible display at a lower cost versus large format flat panel displays.

“Hitachi is dedicated to designing a projector for every type of installation, and the new Ultra Short Throw 3LCD projectors are an excellent expansion to our growing line of solid state light source projectors,” said Morin. “Ultra Short Throw Projectors are ideal for many education, house of worship and corporate facilities, and now customers can have the ultra-short throw with up to 50,000 hours of maintenance free operation when operating the projector in Long Life 2 Mode.”

All four models feature Hitachi’s original technology including the Accentualizer which allows the projected image to appear more real by enhancing sharpness, gloss and shade and the Perfect Fit 2 which allows end users and integrators to save time on installation.

As with all Hitachi projectors, the four new models offer vibrant image quality, cost-efficient operation and long-lasting reliability. And, for added peace of mind, Hitachi’s LP-AW3001, LP-AW4001 and interactive LP-TW3001 and LP-TW4001 are all backed by a three-year warranty and service and support programmes.

Expansion of SSL Projector Line

Hitachi has also expanded its Solid-State Light source (SSL) projector line, with the LP-WU6500, 5,000 lumen laser projector and the LP-WU9100B, 10,000 lumen laser projector.

“Hitachi is determined to provide projector and display solutions wherever the need exists,” said Morin. “We recognise the advantages that laser projectors bring to the market, like performance and maintenance and low cost of ownership, and we want to ensure that our customers can find the perfect projector for each installation. This expansion of our SSL projector line was a natural next step, and the 5,000 and 10,000 lumen projectors are strong examples of the innovation we have prepared for this line.”

Hitachi SSL projectors deliver a wide colour range including deeper, richer colours with no compromise on brightness; greater resolution and precision; a longer maintenance-free life up to 20,000 hours and instant on/off capabilities. SSL projectors can be installed in difficult-to-reach places and have lower maintenance costs because there is no lamp to swap out after the typical 3,000 operating hours or fan filters to replace.

The LP-WU9100B projector is the newest model in Hitachi’s solid state light source projector line-up. With WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution, the new 10,000-lumen laser projector is equipped with 360-degree installation, wide range of lens options, and five digital inputs including two HDMI, HDBaseT, DVI-D and 3G SDI. The 10,000-lumen laser projector is suitable for heavy usage, digital signage and 24/7 applications.
